Electric Ray boilers

When we refurbished Bonamy House in Guernsey we were faced with a problem installing a new heating system - apparently the (presumably water/convection) central heating was removed in 1890.
We required separate boilers for each floor but because the house is a grade 1 listed building we could not punch flues through the walls for gas combination boilers. Left with the choice of either one large external oil boiler and a complicated metering / control system or electrical heating, we opted for the latter.
After much research we decided to use 4 x Protherm 3 phase electrical boilers. These conformed to our requirements:
- Economical to run - about the same price as oil
- No flues
- Simple to install
- Compact - about the same size as a gas combi-boiler
- Quiet - about as noisy as a fridge & no loud 'clunks' like other makes. When in a cupboard they are effectively silent.
- No yearly maintenance required - gas boilers in rented property require yearly CORGI inspection / servicing by law in Guernsey. Ray electric flow boiler offer an alternative for heating and hot water, combining safety with low running costs.
They are made in Slovakia by Protherm, who are a large boiler manufacturer (They produce approx. 200,000 boilers per year). The boilers are fully CE approved and are sold worldwide.
We were so impressed that we obtained the exclusive agency for these boilers in the Channel Islands....more -->
